The Prebendal provides children with the perfect environment to become confident learners where class sizes are small and the opportunities are endless. It has been an exciting time for the School with an excellent report from ISI inspectors and more scholarship records. 73% of our Year 8 Leavers achieved a range of scholarships and awards to leading senior schools in 2016.
We continue to be an unrivalled Centre of Musical Excellence with our Choristers, who sing almost daily in Chichester Cathedral, while 95% of our pupils learn at least one musical instrument. Looking forward, we will continue to achieve excellence in education and be the school of choice for Chichester.
Our extended day programme, from Breakfast Club to supper, along with our flexi boarding are becoming increasingly popular options for busy families and demand for places is rising.
As the oldest school in Sussex, I am extremely proud of our place in history but equally proud of our modern-day flexibility and how ambitious our children are. As well as Music, Sport also plays a major part in our timetable as does our bespoke personal development programme from Reception to Year 8. All children have the opportunity to learn camp craft, take part in initiative and team building exercises alongside, for example, three day residential trips canoeing down the River Wye.
We have been described as a "charming mini Hogwarts" and our traditional buildings blend perfectly with our forward-thinking curriculum. As we in the heart of Chichester, we can also enrich lessons with visits to local attractions literally on our doorstep such as The Festival Theatre, Pallant House Gallery and The Novium Museum.
Do come and visit us as it is only by meeting some of the children and staff that you will begin to feel the warmth of our community and see our values in action. To book an appointment to tour the School, please email our Admissions Secretary, Lesa Burchell, or contact her directly on 01243 520970.
Alternatively, for a more informal visit, our Thursday assembly in Chichester Cathedral at 8:45am is a lovely opportunity to see us in action and you will be most welcome.
We all look forward to meeting you.
