Years 7 & 8 at Prebendal
Being at the top of the school brings a wonderful range of opportunities for our year 7 and 8 pupils to explore and enjoy
In Year 7 pupils undertake responsibility for the Year 7 Leadership Programme. Preparing them for their numerous roles in Year 8, including hosting events and dinners, giving speeches at House Feasts, helping and speaking in Cathedral assemblies, services and concerts, organising House competitions and charity fundraising events and being a 'Buddy' for our younger children, this ‘rehearsal’ year ensures that they have the confidence to squeeze all they can from their final year in the school.
There are many opportunities for outward bound education at this end of the school. Trips to Moonfleet, France, Cobnor, Lulworth Cove, as well as a range of exciting day trips, are always keenly anticipated.
Our Leavers’ Programme comprises a comprehensive schedule and includes career talks, e-safety, drugs awareness lectures, a first aid course and the legendary Prebendal Colour run. Regular feedback from parents confirms that our Year 8 pupils leave Prebendal with ‘such confidence and self-esteem’, and that Common Entrance is ‘a fantastic foundation for learning’. It is a source of great pride to us that our pupils continue to their senior schools as self-assured individuals who have benefitted from Prebendal’s teaching and values.
