Spectacular Choral Day Concert

Posted on: 19 Feb 2019

This year's Choral Day Concert involved 80 children wearing animal masks, a team of child vocal soloists, a string quintet, two professional opera singers, a team of trumpeters playing the fanfares, a ballet dancer, a chamber orchestra, and celebrated Chichester author Kate Mosse OBE as The Voice of God.

The production of Noye's Fludde by composer Benjamin Britten is in Chichester Cathedral on Saturday 16th March 2019 was a spectacular sight and a packed Cathedral enjoyed the polished performance.

A host of former pupils, parents and staff, collectively known as The Prebendal Associates, also joined current families in the production which will involved more than 170 performers.

Kate says she was delighted to be involved: "As a Chi girl born and bred, it's a great honour to be invited to take part in this wonderful musical collaboration some 40 years after I last took to the stage in Chichester Cathedral!"

Director of Music at The Prebendal, Matt Jelf, said: "This was a huge team effort to put together all on one day and it's a fantastic piece of community music designed for everyone - amateurs, professionals, children and adults."
