Out & About

Extending learning beyond the school gates adds another valuable layer to life at The Prebendal

From regular Beach School visits for our youngest pupils, right up to our Year 8s enjoying their week away at Cobnor Activity Centre, children of all ages – day pupils and boarders alike – enjoy a stimulating Trips and Visits programme.

From places of historic significance to centres where outdoor pursuits and challenges are the name of the game, we also offer overnight camps, long weekends away, canoeing, staying at a French chateau for a week’s immersion in the language and exploring Moonfleet and Lulworth Cove.

As Year 8 pupils prepare to say goodbye to The Prebendal they celebrate their friendships during a week’s stay at Cobnor Activity Centre. A rite of passage that marks the transition into the next chapter of their education, this is a happy and memorable way for our children to reflect on their time with us and to create a lasting mental keepsake of their Prebendal schooldays.

Renowned as a centre for musical excellence, The Prebendal’s pupils regularly team up with musicians from senior schools and outside organisations to give concerts and workshops. Giving them regular performing opportunities in Chichester Cathedral, which we use as our assembly and concert space, the musical debuts of our children are historic – quite literally!

Proud of our status as the oldest school in Sussex, we have been part of life in Chichester for hundreds of years. Today our pupils regularly visit local attractions and businesses, enhancing their work in the classroom and gaining insightful perspectives from external organisations that also form part of this thriving city.

“It is a privilege to know that my child is part of a thriving curriculum which offers so much more beyond the classroom and which develops them as a whole.” Current Parent
