e welcome you to our website which we hope will begin to give you an insight into the unique nature of The Prebendal School (Chichester Cathedral School).

W
e are a co-educational day/boarding school for children aged 3 – 13 years. The youngest children start in the Pre-Prep at Northgate House, which gives the children an excellent introduction to school life in a small caring community. As they progress through the school they move onto our main school site situated next to Chichester's historic Cathedral.

O
ur links to the Cathedral go far beyond the Choristers who are educated at the school; Christian values and principles are evident in all aspects of school life. Our children are part of a caring community where encouragement, sympathy and understanding are watch words.

S
chool assemblies take place each morning. On Tuesdays and Thursdays these take place in the Cathedral and are open to the public as well as to parents. As one observer wrote:
"I would strongly advise anyone thinking about where to send their son or daughter to school to go to an assembly and feel the pride that pupils have in their talents and their heritage. Academic quality can be seen in the lists of scholarships achieved (and here Prebendal has an enviable record with approximately half the pupils leaving at 13+ being awarded scholarships to major public schools). You can see sports success in matches and their results, but the most important part of education i.e. social, moral, spiritual and cultural is hard to quantify. I advise you to go to the cathedral to feel the special heartbeat in the centre of the city. What your son or daughter will absorb at this school will be deep in their souls and help them throughout their lives."

A
s with any school the best way to see what we are really like is to come and visit us. We would like to welcome you into our community and answer any questions you may have to help you make an informed choice. I very much look forward to meeting you and showing you what a special place The Prebendal is.
