Visit to the Ashmolean Museum

Posted on: 07 Mar 2023

On Tuesday 7th March, Years 7 and 8 travelled to Oxford for a Classical enrichment day. On their KS3 Latin course, our Year 7 and 8 pupils have been learning the Latin language through engaging stories from Greek and Roman mythology and ancient history. We were therefore very excited to secure tickets to the new exhibition on Knossos and the Minotaur at the Ashmolean museum as we have studied Theseus and the Minotaur as part of our 'heroes' unit. Our pupils have also been learning about Roman history and culture as part of their classical studies and took part in a Roman daily life workshop in which they handled real Roman artefacts. After the Classical part of the day, pupils visited our linked Oxford College and had the opportunity to chat to current Oxford undergraduate students about their studies. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the trip and are looking forward to more classical enrichment opportunities in the Summer term.
