Years 2 and 3 visit to Arundel Wetland Centre

On Monday, Years 2 and 3 visited the Arundel Wetland Centre to learn more about living things and their habitats. We took part in a workshop to explore the effects of plastic in our environment and completed some activities to work out ways in which we can protect our planet. In the afternoon, we explored the wetlands and did some pond dipping to see what different creatures we could find and identify. We learnt how to correctly use nets and how to use identification cards. The staff at the wetlands were very impressed with our pond dipping skills and how quickly we found a range of different bugs! We finished off the day by listening to a talk about the resident pelicans that live at the Wetland Centre and even had the chance to watch them eat some fish! We had a brilliant day!
